Professional Experience

I bring over twenty years of experience across big tech, academia, litigation consulting, global health, multilateral organizations, and financial markets, giving me a broad perspective on how evidence, incentives, and institutions operate in different environments. This background allows me to bridge technical, strategic, and policy domains and communicate comfortably with senior leaders, engineers, regulators, and academic audiences.

As a Principal Economist at Amazon, I lead large-scale analytical and experimental work across ads, logistics, workplace safety, PR and Policy. I partner closely with engineering, science, product, and operations teams to guide decisions with causal evidence and clear strategic insight.

Before Amazon, I spent over a decade in academia as a faculty member at the London School of Economics and later an Associate Professor at the University of Sussex, teaching microeconomics, game theory, strategy, financial economics, and big data methods. During this period, I also worked in litigation consulting at Cornerstone Research, contributing to expert analysis in antitrust, healthcare, and complex commercial disputes—experience that strengthened my ability to translate economic reasoning for legal, regulatory, and executive audiences.

Earlier in my career, I worked in global policy and development with the World Bank and the World Health Organization, contributing to major reports and multinational policy initiatives. I also spent time in financial markets as an interest rate and FX options trader at UBS, gaining experience with risk, incentives, and market microstructure—skills that continue to inform my applied economics work.

Mentoring & Professional Activities
